To make garlic mashed potatoes, gather potatoes, garlic cloves, butter, milk or cream, salt, pepper, and optional fresh herbs like parsley.

Start by peeling and chopping potatoes into even chunks. Place them in a pot of cold water with garlic cloves and bring to a boil.

Drain the potatoes and garlic, then return them to the pot. Add butter and mash using a potato masher until smooth.

Adding Creaminess

Pour in warm milk or cream gradually, stirring until incorporated. Adjust consistency with more milk as needed. Season generously with salt and pepper to taste.

Garlic Infusion

Ensure the garlic is well-mixed for even flavor throughout. Add chopped fresh herbs like parsley for a vibrant finish.

Adjusting Texture

For chunkier potatoes, mash less; for smoother, continue mashing until desired consistency is reached.

Serve hot, garnished with additional butter or herbs if desired.

For a twist, roast garlic before adding it to the potatoes for a richer, nuttier flavor. Alternatively, mix in grated cheese or sour cream for extra creaminess.

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat on the stove or microwave, adding a splash of milk to retain creaminess.
